PARALLEL LINES |
A piece of music-theatre
by DAVID WENDEN and WARD BAKER
Music by WARD BAKER
| Cast: | 17 main speaking parts (6 m, 7 f, 4 variable) + 34 minor roles (variable m/f); doubling is possible. |
| Suggested Age Range: | 11 upwards |
| Approx. Running Time: | 80 minutes |
| Music: | 12 numbers: solos, choruses and choreography; contemporary styles. Accompaniment by piano or, ideally, by keyboards and small band. |
| Set: | Open and flexible - works well in the round. Can be done simply - with lighting and props - but there is scope to be more ambitious. |
| Synopsis: | Life throws up
many challenges and problems, failures and successes, triumphs and defeats; and
at each age of man, worries are relevant and no less important. Each contrasting scene illustrates that what may appear trivial to one may be vital to another; each story has its antithesis; each runs on Parallel Lines. |
